Bush Mindfulness

This program is for people affected by cancer (from diagnosis, during treatment, and after treatment) including their adult family members and carers.

Bush Mindfulness is a mostly silent and sedentary activity, open to individuals of all ability levels in an accessible location.

Take an hour-long break from everyday life and refocus on yourself and the world around you. Bush Mindfulness aims to decentralise stress through breathing exercises and mental awareness.

These sessions will begin with light psychoeducation on the effects of stress on the body. With a focus on existing in nature, in a state of quiet, you will learn and practice self-guided meditation, grounding techniques, and take-home tools to help you step back in times of high anxiety. Following the exercises, participants are welcome to chat in a supportive environment at a local café.

These sessions are facilitated by a member of our Supportive Care Team who will provide and assist with the practice of mindfulness.

If you prefer more conversational activities, we encourage you to also explore our Walks n Talks and Coffee Catch Up programs.

It is essential that you register for every ENHANCE session you wish to attend before you attend and receive confirmation. This is to ensure the safety and welfare of all participants, CCACT staff, and session facilitators.

If you are not registered, unfortunately staff will have to turn you away from the session. Please register to avoid disappointment.

Sessions are opened monthly.

Check back here on the 2nd last Friday of this month, for next month's sessions.
