Walks n Talks
This program is for people who have/had cancer (from diagnosis, during treatment and after treatment).
Come join us for a leisurely stroll through some of Canberra’s most picturesque spaces.
Walks n Talks offers a chance to gently reconnect with nature and others who’ve been affected by cancer. These group walks are facilitated by a member of our Supportive Care Team who will guide you through the walk.
Each walk is held at a comfortable pace, set by the group, and take place in accessible locations and in easy-to-reach locations including Mulligans Flat, the Botanical Gardens, the Pinnacle Nature Reserve, Jerrabomberra Wetlands, Bowen Park, and the National Arboretum.
Routes and times are selected to make the most of Canberra’s seasonal weather - with later walks scheduled in winter to catch the warmth of the day, and earlier walks in summer to avoid the heat. Sessions often conclude at a local café, where participants are welcome to sit together, chat, and wind down in a supportive environment.
It is essential that you register for every ENHANCE session you wish to attend before you attend the session. This is to ensure the safety and welfare of all participants, CCACT staff and session facilitators. If you are not registered, unfortunately staff will have to turn you away from the session. Please register to avoid disappointment.
