Online Lunchtime Catch-Ups

This program is for people affected by cancer (from diagnosis, during treatment and after treatment) including their family members and carers.
Our Online Lunchtime Catch-Ups sessions offer a relaxed and supportive way for people in the ACT and surrounding region to connect with others who have been affected by cancer.
These sessions are ideal for when attending in person isn't possible, practical or preferred. They offer a chance to connect with others and share experiences from the comfort of your own space. Each session is facilitated by a member of our Supportive Care Team alongside a Master of Counselling student from the University of Canberra.
Poetry introduction (5 minutes): Each session begins with a mindfulness poem to explore emotions and create a calm, grounded start.
Lunchtime Catch Up (5 - 30minutes): From there, participants are welcome to share, listen, or simply be present—whatever feels right for them.
Mindful podcast/Mindfulness activity: The session concludes with a mindful podcast or mindfulness activity to support emotional wellbeing with an opportunity to leave feeling refreshed and re-centred. Activities may include guided breathing meditation, mindful visualisation, or listening to themed mindfulness music or podcast episodes.
These are informal, drop-in sessions. Bring your lunch, and join us for five minutes, the full hour, or jump in for the section that interests you most. Whether you want to connect with others or simply connect with your own self, Online Lunchtime Catch-Ups are the perfect way to balance your day.
It is essential that you register for every ENHANCE session you wish to attend before you attend the session. This is to ensure the safety and welfare of all participants, Cancer Council ACT staff and session facilitators. If you are not registered, unfortunately staff will have to turn you away from the session. Please register to avoid disappointment.
