Keeping Ahead of the Pack is a DVD, which provides tobacco education classroon activities for use in three learning areas:

  1. English
  2. Physical Education and Health
  3. Studies of Society and Environment

Each activity is aligned with the ACT draft curriculum framework Essential Learning Achievements. The DVD also contains ideas for whole of school activities and approaches. To order your Smarter Than Smoking resources click here.

Keep Left: Youth Smoking Cessation Guide for School Nurses. This publication is for use by school nurses or welfare staff (inc support workers ans counselors etc). It provides guidance on how to work with students who smoke to assist them in quitting or reducing their smoking. Click here to download your copy.  

Smart Moves on Smoking is a pamphlet for young people that contains tips and advice on quitting. Copies can be ordered from the Cancer Council on  6257 9999 or by emailing quit@actcancer.org 

Clearing the Air: Talking with Children and Teenagers About Smoking booklet provides easy to follow information for parents on youth smoking, such as:

  • why young people may try smoking
  • what parents can do and say to prevent their children from smoking
  • ways in which parents can set a healthy example for their children.
